On 22 April, a bus accident occurred at Salt Lake GC Island in Kolkata, resulting in the death of one e-rickshaw driver and injuries to several others. The driver of the bus is currently absconding.
The injured victims were rushed to Bidhan Nagar Divisional Hospital for medical treatment. According to local eyewitnesses, the bus was speeding and hit the e-rickshaw before crashing into a park. The incident took place while the bus was en route to Netaji statue from Beleghata connector.
Following the accident, local officials including Krishna Chakraborty of Bidhan Nagar Municipal Corporation and Councilor Minu Das Chakraborty arrived at the scene to provide assistance. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
